who reside in MO, AR, or KC metro are of KS**Selects, grows, and
maintains a profitable book of business for assigned territory.
Evaluates and analyzes complex accounts for risk selection and
pricing purposes. Offers appropriate coverage for products and
explains decisions to accept or reject a risk to agents. Develops
and fosters agency relationships. Educates agents on EMC products,
underwriting appetite, systems, and services. Coordinates with
marketing and branch management in the agency planning and review
processes.Essential Functions:
- Selects, grows and maintains a profitable book of business for
assigned territory
- Evaluates and analyzes complex accounts for risk selection and
pricing purposes
- Develops and fosters agency relationships
- Collaborates with marketing representatives to ensure agents
receive excellent customer experiences
- Offers appropriate coverage for exposures and explains
decisions to agents
- Coordinates with marketing and branch management in the agency
planning and review processesEducation & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in insurance or business
administration, or equivalent relevant experience
- Three years of experience in commercial lines underwriting
- Insurance designations, such as CPCU preferredKnowledge, Skills
& Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of underwriting and risk analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound
decisions
- Ability to work effectively with others, as well as
independently
- Ability to maintain high standards of professional
competence
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
and social media
- Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting
deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate products, procedures,
business planning and system information necessary to positively
influence production within assigned territory
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the
ability to speak in front of others
- Strong presentation skills preferred
- Occasional travel; a valid driver's license with an acceptable
motor vehicle report per company standards required if traveling
