Job Description:

The Marketing Director is responsible for the successful overall direction and management of all activities related to the casino customer base & Players Club, Player Development & VIP Services, Graphic Arts & commercial storyboards, and Special Events. This position is responsible for formulating and directing Gaming Enterprise marketing strategy, ensuring effective promotions, special events, as well as maintaining good public relations.--All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.-- Continuous oversight and coordination with Analyst.--Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesDevelops implements and maintains a targeted casino customer base, establishing strategies and production standards for the accomplishment of objectives.Create, develop and implement an effective strategy of departmental organization, executing management objectives and objectives for the expansion of the targeted casino customer base.Develops and executes all Marketing business and strategic plans to ensure performance and profit objectives for short and long-term goals are met based on department goals, objectives and Tribal initiatives.--Ensures the proper preparation and execution of all special/promotional events and helps determine the targeted database selection for events.Reviews analysis and identifies promotions/events schedule for the casino customer base to ensure targeted markets are maintained.Research, analyze and monitor industry trends, competitive set, financial and demographic factors to capitalize on marketing opportunities and remain competitive and a leader in the local and state market.--Establish, monitor and review individual departmental budgets on a regular basis.-- Ensure that the department is meeting or exceeding established financial and performance goals.Ensure effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, terminations and other personnel related matters are being handled appropriately throughout the department.Directs the day-to-day operations of the Marketing department.-- Develops, implements, and monitors department budgets; ensures customer tracking to enable analysis of premiere players and forwards reports to General Manager as needed/requested.-- Responsible for monitoring and supervising off site events, maintaining criteria for events and other related duties.Acts as representative of Saracen Casino Resort at off-site events, Chamber/Rotary community events, etc.--Must be able to think outside the box and to be creative.-- Needs to be open to new ideas and to encourage team members to offer suggestions and to try new ideas & concepts.Reviews and approves all advertising campaigns, including television, radio, outdoor, print and internal campaigns.Supervises and develops direct reports by mentoring, coaching and providing performance feedback; works collaboratively with them to design professional development plans to support best practices, bench strength and department efficiencies.--Develops and monitors gaming enterprise brand identity.In partnership with senior management, provides policies and procedures, player development plans and internal controls and ensures compliance in all.-- Communicates policies and procedures, both departmental and company wide to the department.Assists and/or develops and maintains complimentary programs for appropriate player levels.-- Maintain a high profile at VIP events, constant visual presence to all players as appropriate.--Oversees and assists and/or coordinates with the Player Development Manager and staff when necessary, in effective database marketing such as direct mail pieces, player tracking and slot club promotions.--Coordinates with Player Development and VIP Services to help develop and implement player programs and special events.--RequirementsQualifications/RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Must be a minimum of 21 years of age upon employment.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Masters Degree preferred.Ten years experience in the gaming industry preferred with a minimum of five years in marketing management on a director level or in a leadership role.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills required.Ability to read, analyze and interpret complicated documents, such as technical journals, financial and statistical reports and legal documents with an ability to respond to complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to present information to top management, public groups and/or Saracen Development Authority.Must have leadership abilities especially in team building; Must be willing to teach and train marketing staff in department disciplines.--Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and provide solutions.Must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to the customers and employees.Successful candidate must be an experienced, results oriented, and hands-on professional.Must be culturally sensitive and experienced in leading a diverse workforce.
