Job Description Job Description Job Title: Facilities Mechanic Job Description Join our team as a Facilities Mechanic, where you will perform essential maintenance work in a residential setting. Your role will include tasks such as replacing windows and screens, repairing plumbing issues, and maintaining apartment appliances. You will also prepare vacant units for new occupancy, performing necessary plumbing and electrical upgrades as needed. Responsibilities Replace windows, window glass, screens, and spouting. Repair plumbing issues including clogged drains, pipes, faucets, and toilets. Repair covers for switches and outlets. Replace and repair apartment appliances, including ranges and refrigerators. Patch and paint walls and replace cabinets and countertops in vacant units. Strip and wax floors and perform other necessary plumbing and electrical upgrades. Essential Skills Minimum of five years of experience in building maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical repair, HVAC, carpentry, or mechanical work. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Word and Excel. Ability to work independently and demonstrate prior success in time management and dependability. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Mid-level knowledge of methods, practices, and materials used in building maintenance and repair. Understanding of electrical and plumbing systems and repair. Ability to troubleshoot effectively. Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and insurability under the plan. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, involving physical exertion common to the construction and maintenance industries. You will experience various weather conditions and temperature extremes. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling. You must maintain a professional appearance and portray a positive image. The position includes a 37.5-hour work week with weekend on-call duties, compensated at 1.5 times the normal rate. Good vision, communication, and physical endurance are essential.in Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
