Job Description Job Description Job Title: CNC Operator Job Description As a CNC Operator, you will provide accurate measurements and precision cutting of parts using various technologies based on blueprints. Your role is crucial in ensuring the quality and efficiency of production processes. Responsibilities Receive and implement specific instructions accurately. Review and interpret blueprints effectively. Demonstrate strong attention to detail. Calculate angles and pitch from rise and run measurements. Understand and apply knowledge of all cutting types, including Band Saw, Torch, Plasma, and Shear. Perform notching, punching, and Press Brake functions. Follow directions and work independently when required. Operate a fork truck; certification is preferred. Identify different material types such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 lbs as production demands. Essential Skills Ability to walk, stand, lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. Capability to crawl and climb ladders. Willingness to work long hours and in all weather conditions. 5 years of experience in mechanical, technical, painting, and/or machining fields. High School Diploma Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in CNC operation and machining. Familiarity with different cutting technologies. Fork truck certification is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a fabrication shop at a smaller, newly built location with around 40 team members, set to expand in 2026. The environment can be dirty, and you will work on the 3rd shift from Monday to Thursday, 6 PM to 6 AM, or the 1st shift from Monday to Friday starting at 6 AM. PPE includes jeans, a work-appropriate shirt, steel-toed boots, a weld helmet, and safety glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
