Job Description Job Description Description: The Engine and
Power Systems Training Instructor is responsible for providing high
quality customer experience to employees and customers by
developing and conducting training programs on various Caterpillar
applications, systems, and operations. WHAT YOU'LL DO Participates
in needs analysis studies to determine training needs by employees,
departments, and stores Confers with management to gain knowledge
of specific work situations requiring employees to better
understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and
technologies Formulates teaching outlines and determines
instructional methods such as individual training, group
instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and
workshops Selects or develops training aids as well as testing and
evaluation procedures to ensure learning and completion of training
Conducts training sessions covering specified areas regarding
on-the-job training, machine technology, machine application,
apprenticeship programs, refresher trainings, etc. Tests trainees
to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training Reports
progress of employees to management Revises and/or updates training
curriculum to fit current business needs to improve effectiveness
Provide customers and Riggs employees with product, application,
maintenance, and operation training Perform other duties as needed
within the Training Department Assign and manage training
curriculum for employees in Cat DPC Monitor and report on
individual learning plan activities to employees, supervisors, and
management Dealership Key point of contact for all Cat DPC related
issues Requirements: WHAT YOU'LL NEED 4-year college degree in
business or related field or comparable industry/product experience
5-10 years’ experience with Caterpillar Large Engine and Power
systems Trouble shoot repair and maintenance. Preferred
Caterpillar/Regional training courses completed Cat Electric Power,
G3600, and G3500 engines Effective verbal and written communication
skills Ability to design training courses from ground up based on
employee and customer needs Excellent instruction capabilities –
ability to transfer knowledge to others IMPORTANT INFORMATION While
performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly
required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk
or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception
and ability to adjust focus. The employee is routinely lifting up
to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. The employee
is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or
caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or
humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne
particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme
heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical
shock and vibration. The work environment characteristics described
here are representative of those an employee encounters while
performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable

environment is usually low to moderate. Required travel up to 50%.
This position requires traveling to branch locations upon occasion
