Title: Engineering Manager
Location: Arkansas City, AR (Cypress Bend)
Shift: Monday - Friday daytime hours; otherwise as
needed/required.
Compensation: $117K-$175K base salary + 15% AIP bonus + full &
complete relocation + sign-on bonus.

Travel: Extremely minimal.
Position Description: At the end of the day the Engineering Manager
is responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers and the
engineering group that works on capital projects under $1M in value
and improves operations. In this role you will collaborate with the
Superintendent and Operations Manager that your team is supporting
and lead and execute the cost, schedule, and performance for these
projects, including working with the corporate team. You will
execute all capital projects and build the budgets needed to do so.
The plant has paper machines and high-speed converting lines and
produces bleached paperboard and bleached Kraft pulp, used in the
production of folding cartons, commercial print paperboard, carded
packaging, and cup stock. In this role you will report to the Plant
Manager and lead the Engineering Group comprised of 5-10 mechanical
and electrical engineers from early careers to seasoned
professionals, and capital project engineers. The former
Engineering Manager retired, so leadership experience, coaching,
and teaching is needed for the group along with manufacturing
experience. You will be essential in helping mentor and grow young
engineers and this team. This position is part of the site
leadership team, so you will have a high level of engagement at the
site level that will impact the direction of the mill. Your
Engineering Leadership responsibilities include:
--- Positive role model for all mill personnel in safety, quality,
and productivity.
--- Provides technical & business guidance/instruction/mentoring
for engineering staff on projects.
--- Provides career development planning for engineering staff.
--- Manages the site capital deployment strategy & actively
participates in site strategy development.
--- Ensures adequate engineering tracking and reporting controls
are being followed to evaluate the projects progress, schedule, and
performance.
--- Ensures engineering staff are tracking and communicating
project status and key milestones to internal project stakeholders,
adjust project plans, budget requests and or resources as required
to meet project requirements.
--- Aids in overseeing construction efforts and assist with any
troubleshooting or problem solving required to meet the design
intent.
--- Ensures drawings and design details of existing facility are up
to date and all field modifications made during construction are
accurately documented.
--- When necessary, leads troubleshooting of significant equipment
failures to full operation.
--- Display and champion the company Core Values
--- Influence management on strategic technical direction.
--- Supports site in evaluating projects requiring outside
engineering.
--- Develops or enhances project tools and engineering guidelines
used to standardize engineering practices as it pertains to project
management and implementation.
Requirements:
--- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Prefer Mechanical or
Electrical, but open to others.
--- 5-10+ years' experience in manufacturing or a mix of similar
experience + 2 years' Project Management.
--- Outstanding leadership with demonstrated leadership of salaried
professionals through projects.
--- Experience leading a group of engineers & big projects to come
in a deliver result right off the bat.
--- Demonstrated ability to foster continuous improvement.
--- Functional understanding of predictive & preventative
maintenance programs preferred.
