Under the general oversight of the Manager of Co-worker Health, the
Co-worker Health Nurse is responsible for delivering health
services to our team members on a daily basis. This role is
performed in alignment with our mission, values, and service
standards. Position Overview: Co-worker Health RN – Hospital
Location Work Schedule: Monday to Friday No weekends or holidays!
Our organization is in search of a committed Co-worker Health Nurse
to enhance our team. This essential position plays a vital role in
safeguarding the health and safety of our employees from the
outset, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while fostering
a culture of wellness across the organization. Main
Responsibilities: Act as the primary health resource for all
employees, beginning with onboarding and continuing throughout
their tenure. Plan, organize, and oversee all activities related to
Co-worker Health Services in accordance with federal and state
regulations as well as agency requirements. Conduct thorough health
assessments for new hires, which include drug screenings, medical
history evaluations, laboratory tests, chest x-rays (if necessary),
and immunization checks. Administer and oversee the TB skin
screening program in line with state regulations. Perform
respirator fit testing and training as required. Promote and
administer annual influenza and other vaccinations, ensuring
employees are informed about contraindications, side effects, and
necessary precautions. Provide first aid and follow-up care for
workplace injuries, collaborating with departments and supervisors
to facilitate recovery and return-to-work strategies. May take on
the role of Workers' Compensation coordinator, handling injury
documentation, treatment coordination, and communication with both
internal and external parties. Ensure the confidentiality of all
employee health records and sensitive information is maintained.
Compile and present monthly and annual reports to ensure compliance
with the Joint Commission, state health departments, and other
regulatory entities. Stay updated on trends and regulations in
Co-worker Health, revising policies and procedures as necessary.
Engage in and support wellness initiatives, needlestick safety, and
environmental safety committees. Embody our mission, values, and
service standards in all interactions and responsibilities.
Communicate effectively through clear and concise verbal and
written updates regarding co-worker health operations. Perform
additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Graduate
from an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN) Licensure: Valid
nursing license in Missouri (LPN or RN) Experience: At least 2
years in a clinical or hospital environment Certifications: BLS
