Board eligible or board certified pediatrician needed for strict Friday 5:00pm–Monday 7:00am weekend coverage (24-hour call, remote with 30-minute response). Quick Job Snapshot Position: Pediatric Hospitalist Physician – Locum Tenens (Weekend Call) Location: Mountain Home, AR 72653 (Ozarks region) Schedule: Strict Friday 5:00pm – Monday 7:00am, 1 weekend per month Shift: 24-hour call coverage (not in-house; 30-minute in-person response time) Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatric patients (newborn nursery, ER, inpatient med-ped) Contract Dates: Start: May 4, 2026 — End: November 2, 2026 Estimated Weekly Salary: $70,350–$75,370 Preferred Qualifications & Certifications Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics (Board Certified preferred) Active Arkansas medical license or willingness to obtain (expedited credentialing available) Clinical skills: intubation, line placement, stabilization for transfer Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Electronic Health Record: Experience with Cerner preferred COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed) New graduates welcome; at least 1 year clinical experience preferred Travel/locum tenens experience highly preferred Key Responsibilities Provide weekend call coverage for the newborn nursery, emergency department, and inpatient med-ped unit Round daily on Saturday and Sunday in the inpatient unit and nursery Respond to ER calls (typically 2–3 per day; often managed by phone with in-person response as needed) Manage a small inpatient census (typically 1–2 pediatric patients) and care for an average of 5 newborns over the weekend Stabilize infants for transfer to higher-level care when necessary (circumcision not required) Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner or assigned EHR and communicate clearly with on-site teams Why This Pediatric Locum Tenens Opportunity?
