Our Client,set 45 minutes from Little Rock, is a Community Mental Health center is a private non-profit organization who operates wisely and efficiently with strong financial foundation. They offer three services including: psychiatric assessment, ongoing Pharma management visits, & hospital follow up. Job Responsibilities The Staff Psychiatrist will serve as a member of the Center's service delivery team providing psychiatric care services through assessment and treatment, if indicated. This is to include a full-range of psychiatry services, which may include evaluations, medication management, crisis services, and therapy. Additional responsibilities for the Psychiatrist include but are not limited to:
Normal working hours, 8am-5pm On Call - anticipate on-call scheduling one weekend a month Responsible for medical/psychiatric care of consumers to whom they are assigned as attending Psychiatrist. For those consumers needing psychotropic drug treatment, the Psychiatrist will explain to the consumer or to the parent/guardian of a minor the application (to include rationale for medication); possible side effects of medications, early warning signs of relapse, possible consequences of non-adherence and non-compliance of psychotropic drugs in the consumer's treatment, and explains that these drugs may be used to treat or prevent the recurrence of the symptoms of mental illness. When prescribing psychotropic medication, the rationale for use of each medication will be based on the Psychiatrist's diagnosis of a consumer's illness or other documents in the mental health record indicating the target symptoms to be treated. The documented information constitutes the basis for which prescribing decisions are made, if psychotropic medications are to be used. The Psychiatrist prescribing and/or continuing to prescribe psychotropic medications reviews the consumer's condition at frequent intervals to document continued compliance, symptoms, side effects, and adjusts medications when appropriate. The documentation should include on-going substantiation of the individual's diagnosis, and justification of the need for continuing treatment. The Psychiatrist will assure that any laboratory work, drug analysis, or findings are documented in the consumer's case record. Participates in staff meetings with the treatment team to give directions in psychiatry and in some instances medical treatment of the consumer. In cooperation with the Medical Director, reviews treatment of consumers on a regular basis so as to arrive at an effective, on-going treatment program for each individual consumer. This is to include review and signing all treatment plans for assigned consumers in a timely manner. Compliance in this area is necessary to avoid being cited for deficiencies by auditors for not meeting the 14-day signature regulation, and the possible recoupment of payments for services. Must meet the minimum direct service requirements established by the Agency's Administration, as approved by the Board of Directors. Currently, that performance standard is based on a calculation of successfully delivering 22 units (15-minute increments) of billable services per day, times the number of work days in the month. Be available to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for consultation with staff members in regard to psychiatric problems that may arise with consumers. Provides consultation to local physicians, when requested, regarding their consumers who may have psychiatric problems. Provides on-call services on a rotating basis with other Agency Psychiatrists, in accordance with a schedule that assures crisis intervention coverage 7 days a week on a 24-hour per day basis. This is to include coverage for the outpatient services, as well as being available to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for psychiatric emergencies and after normal hours-service requests.

Current license as a physician in Arkansas and in good standing with Arkansas State Medical Board Completion of an accredited residency program in the field of psychiatry New graduates considered Meets the ethical standards of their profession and of the Agency Must be agreeable in seeing all ages (children included)
